A Wonderful Vintage Round Leather Jewellery Box with a fitted sterling silver lid. The lid is richly worked in relief with five cherub heads emerging from a field of clouds. The silverwork has a repoussé and chased finish, with darkened recesses that emphasise the modelling.
The box exterior is a smooth leather in a deep oxblood or burgundy tone. The interior is lined in a suede tan leather, giving a soft surface for jewellery. Hallmarked for London, 1990.
