An Unusual Antique Novelty Silver-Plated Box crafted in the realistic form of a gentleman’s boater hat. The box features finely engine-turned decoration imitating the woven straw texture of a traditional boater, complete with a band and bow to the front. The hat lifts apart into two sections - the crown forming the lid, and the brim containing the hollow box interior, suitable for storing small items such as jewellery, trinkets, or desk accessories. The base of the box is stamped with the Diamond Registration Mark for 1881.
