A Really Stunning Pair of Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Knife Rests featuring finely modelled boar’s heads at each end. The heads are intricately cast, with deep texturing to represent fur, expressive facial features, and highly detailed snouts and tusks. Each boar’s head bears full English hallmarks to the side of one hoof, including the maker’s mark, lion passant for sterling, and Birmingham assay marks. These knife rest have a good total weight to them - 267g of Sterling Silver! Hallmarked for London, 1867 and marked ‘DHCH’ for silversmiths ‘Daniel & Charles Houle’.
