A Very Striking Antique Edwardian Vesta Case combining sterling silver with striking rose gold inlay. Originally used to store matches, it now serves as a collectible keepsake, pendant, or display piece - steeped in history and ornate charm. Intricate hand-engraved scrollwork covers both sides, adding depth and texture to the surface. The front includes a blank shield-shaped cartouche, traditionally intended for initials or a monogram. Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1902.
* These portable cases were popular accessories in the late 1800s and early 1900s, carried by both men and women. This one, with its luxurious materials and engraving, would have belonged to someone with a taste for elegance and refinement.
