Lovely Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Mounted Cut Glass Vanity Jar. The lid is centred with a hand-painted ceramic plaque depicting an elegant pastoral courting scene in 18th-century dress. The silverwork is finished with a scrolling, repoussé-style border that frames the painted panel and gives the piece a refined, decorative presence. The glass is cut in an all-over diamond and crosshatch pattern that catches the light beautifully on a dressing table. Hallmarked for London, 1904.
*A small but distinctive piece that brings the quiet theatre of the Edwardian dressing table into a modern home!
