A Really Splendid Antique Edwardian Silver Plated Tea Cannister. The front is engraved with a stunning crest featuring a Lion emblem above the motto “SAPERE AUDE”. ‘Sapere aude’ is the Latin phrase meaning ‘Dare to know’. A fitted pull-off lid sits neatly over the neck, creating a pleasingly uniform silhouette when closed – circa 1905.
* A crested canister like this brings a sense of continuity and ceremony to tea storage and serving!
