A Splendid Set of 12 American Sterling Silver Seafood Forks. Each fork features a delicately pierced handle adorned with a floral and foliate motif in high relief - a beautiful example of fine American silverwork from the period.
The three slender tines are gold-washed (gilt), offering both visual contrast and practical protection against the acids found in shellfish. Ideal for serving lobster, crab, shrimp, or oysters, these forks are perfectly sized for elegant seafood service and entertaining.
All forks are stamped "STERLING" on the reverse. Though unbranded, the style and quality are consistent with early 20th-century American silver tableware, combining functionality with decorative appeal.
Measurements:
Length: 6" (approx. 15cm)
Silver weight: 145g
All 12 forks are in excellent antique condition. No bends, dents, or cracks.
