An Ornate Grand Tour Silver Plated Fruit basket. The form combines a wide pierced and engraved tray with a raised, fluted central bowl, creating a dramatic two-level presentation. The border is richly chased with scrolling foliage and classical motifs, including winged figures within the decorative frieze. A beaded swing handle spans the diameter, allowing the dish to be carried and presented neatly at table – circa 1880.
