A Nice Antique Sterling Silver Caster elegantly proportioned in the classic baluster form; the caster features a finely pierced, domed lid with engraved decoration and a turned finial, resting atop a smoothly contoured pedestal base. Hallmarked for London, 1778 and marked ‘RH’ for the silversmith ‘Robert Hennell I’.
Measurements:
Height: 6 1/2" (approx. 16.5cm)
Diameter at widest point: 2 3/4" (approx. 7cm)
Silver weight: 130g
In good condition – Light surface wear and fine patina consistent with age. Hallmarks are clearly struck. The lid fits snugly and remains functional. There is a minor dent to the body, consistent with age and use. In addition, the finial shows some wear, again in keeping with age. For complete transparency, we have added photographs to the listing to show both areas clearly.
