A Lovely WMF Art Nouveau Pewter Serving Tray with sculptural dog head terminals and oak leaf decoration. The form is an elegant oblong with softly rounded corners and a raised rim that frames the central well. Each end is finished with a well-modelled dog’s head in relief, giving the piece strong character. Oak leaves and acorns are worked beside the terminals, reinforcing a traditional sporting or woodland theme. Marked with pattern number ‘93’ and stamped with the WMF mark for maker Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik – circa 1900.
* The dog head terminals give this tray the feel of a small sculptural object rather than a simple dish.
