*Guilloche enamel is a traditional decorative art form that combines intricate metalwork with vibrant enamel. It involves engraving a design onto a metal surface and filling the engraved lines with enamel, which is then fired to harden it in place. This technique is common in delicate works produced by Fabergé, particularly the famous Russian Fabergé eggs. Although expensive and time-consuming, guilloche enamelling produces beautiful effects, especially in depth of colour.
