This is a Substantial Continental Silver Bowl with a matching fitted cover and a floral finial. The lid is worked in a radiating, shell-like pattern with raised floral and foliate ornament across each panel. A sculptural flower knop sits at the centre, giving the piece a pleasing focal point and an easy grip for lifting.
The body is decorated with repeating rose and leaf panels, creating a continuous band of high-relief detail around the sides. The interior is gilt-washed, giving a warm golden finish that contrasts beautifully with the silver exterior. Marked ‘800’ on the base for European 800 Silver - circa 1900.
