A Large Art Nouveau Brass Dinner Gong complete with its original striker. Crafted around the turn of the 20th century, the piece embodies the organic flowing lines and stylised natural motifs characteristic of the Art Nouveau movement. The rear of the gong is stamped for the English Registration Mark beginning 126, for the year 1889.
* Dinner gongs such as this were once a feature of grand dining rooms, used to summon guests and household members to the table. Today, it remains both a functional piece and a decorative object, ideal for display on a sideboard, in a hallway, or as a charming conversation piece in any period interior.
