A charming pair of Edwardian Arts and Crafts silver plated chambersticks, dating to circa 1905, with distinctive sweeping forms and deeply fluted, shell-shaped bases. Each features a raised candle socket with a broad circular rim, supported by elegant scrollwork, and a tall arched carrying handle surmounted by a ball finial.
We particularly like the flowing, sculptural quality of the bases, where the pronounced ribbing catches the light and gives these chambersticks much of their character. The combination of curved handles, scrolling feet and unusual shell-like forms makes them an appealing decorative pair for a mantelpiece, side table or candlelit setting.
