A substantial pair of silver plated convertible candelabra, dating to circa 1920, with richly ornamented bases, tall tapered stems and sweeping removable branches. The shaped bases and sconces are decorated with bold scrolling foliate detail, while sculpted finials complete the more elaborate candelabra arrangements.
What makes this pair particularly interesting is the ingenious four-way convertible design. They can be arranged as tall candelabra, low candelabra, tall candlesticks or low candlesticks, allowing their height and overall presence to be adapted completely to suit the setting. The removable stems and branch sections transform the pieces from imposing multi-light centrepieces into more compact single-light candlesticks.
We especially like the versatility this gives the set, as each configuration has quite a different character while retaining the same richly decorated design. Whether used in their full-height candelabra form for a dramatic dining table or reduced to low candlesticks for a more intimate arrangement, they offer an unusually flexible decorative display.
Measurements:
Height (at full height): 16" (approx. 41cm)
Width: 13 1/2" (approx. 34cm)

In good condition – The silver plate shows only light surface wear consistent with age and careful handling.
