Antique Victorian Sterling Silver Cut Glass Butter Dish Set London 1895

A very attractive antique Victorian butter dish set in Sterling Silver and cut glass, dated London 1895. The silver stand has a beautifully shaped scalloped border and is raised on three ball feet, holding a circular cut glass dish with sharply faceted sides and a striking starburst cut base. The accompanying spreader sits neatly alongside and completes the set very well.

We particularly like the contrast between the crisp sparkle of the cut glass and the softly flowing outline of the silver mount. Presented in a fitted blue satin-lined case, this is an elegant and slightly unusual table piece, equally suited to a breakfast table, afternoon tea service or cabinet display.
