Antique Silver Plated Round Butter Dish With Frosted Glass Liner – circa 1920

An Antique Silver Plated Butter Dish With Frosted Glass Liner made by Daniel & Arter. A circular pull-off lid fits over the main body and is finished with a simple spherical finial for easy removal.

The main silver plated body has a broad integral rim decorated with restrained foliate ornament. The removable glass liner would originally have held butter while keeping it separate from the plated metal interior – circa 1920.

* Beyond butter, the removable glass liner makes this an elegant covered dish for preserves, sugar, sweets, nuts or small table condiments!
