A Fabulous Large Antique Victorian Silver Plated Circular Tureen Dish designed with a broad circular serving body, twin side handles and a fitted domed cover. The lid is deeply fluted in a petal-like pattern, creating a strong sculptural effect across the polished surface.
A raised central finial provides an elegant finishing detail and allows the lid to be lifted easily for service. The surrounding border is finely decorated with engraved floral and foliate ornament arranged in repeating bands. Twin open handles are mounted to either side and feature restrained classical detailing at the terminals. Marked ‘Queens Plate’ by Mappin Brothers’ – circa 1890.
