A Splendid Pair of Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Serving Spoons presented in a fitted case. Each spoon has a broad shaped bowl with pronounced shell-like fluting and finely engraved foliate ornament.
The handles are extensively decorated with floral and scrolling motifs. Decorative cartouche-shaped reserves appear towards the terminals and are unengraved, retaining a pleasingly balanced symmetrical design. Hallmarked for London, 1904.
* Their substantial shaped bowls reflect a period when even practical serving pieces were treated as objects of craftsmanship!
