A Nice Antique Edwardian Silver Plated Twin Bowl Serving Stand designed to hold two removable circular bowls within a shaped open framework. The stand has a symmetrical twin-bowl arrangement joined by a central support and finished with a broad arched carrying handle.
Each bowl is pierced with repeating floral and geometric motifs, creating a light and ornamental appearance. The pierced decoration is especially attractive around the upper walls of the bowls, where stylised flower heads alternate with shaped openwork panels. Twin-bowl stands of this type were commonly used for serving condiments, preserves, sweets, nuts or other small table accompaniments – circa 1905.
