A Fantastic Antique Victorian Elkington Silver-Plated Mounted Glass Claret Jug. Its tall cylindrical glass body has a gently tapering profile and a thick, stable base. A clear applied glass handle provides a practical grip while preserving the jug’s elegant transparency.
The silver-plated collar is shaped with a scalloped lower edge and restrained decorative detailing. The hinged circular lid is fitted with an openwork thumbpiece formed from interlaced curves. Marked for the renowned maker ‘Elkington’ and date marked with the letter ‘R’ for 1877.
