Unusual Pair of Antique Silver Plated Square Bottle Coasters – circa 1840

Unusual Pair of Antique Victorian Silver Plated Square Bottle Coasters with rounded corners. Each coaster is fitted with a warm-toned wooden centre designed to support a wine or spirit bottle. Concentric turned rings decorate the timber inserts and help centre the base of a bottle.

A narrow rope-twist border finishes the upper edge of each silver plated frame. The underside of each coaster is fitted with green felt to protect the tabletop – circa 1840.

* Their square profile offers a restrained alternative to the more commonly found round bottle coaster!
