Antique Edwardian Mappin and Webb Silver Plated Toast Rack – circa 1905

A Nice Antique Edwardian Mappin & Webb Silver Plated Toast Rack with a distinctive boat-shaped outline with a pointed oval base and gently raised sides. A series of arched divisions provides separate spaces for holding slices of toast at the breakfast table.

Fine beaded borders decorate the outer rim, each upright division and the upper carrying handle. The central handle is finished with a stylised fleur-de-lis ornament, giving the practical form an elegant period character. Marked on the base for the renowned makers Mappin and Webb – circa 1905.
