Antique Silver Plated Scottish Style Thistle Toast Rack – circa 1890

A Lovely Antique Silver Plated Scottish Style Toast Rack featuring a rectangular tray raised on four rounded feet. The tray is richly embossed and engraved with scrolling foliage, flowers and paisley-like ornament.

A series of curved uprights creates individual divisions for holding slices of toast. Each upright is finished with a detailed thistle-form terminal. The thistle decoration gives this piece a distinctly Scottish-inspired character – circa 1890.
