A Nice Ornate Set of Victorian Brass Postal Letter Scales featuring a balance mechanism mounted upon an elaborately cast and pierced base. One weighing pan is engraved with a period “Rates of Postage” table for letters and books. The opposing pan was designed to receive the accompanying brass weights during use. Six graduated nesting weights are included and are marked in imperial ounce denominations. Marked with the registration number ‘100798’ for the year 1888.
