Antique Victorian Silver-Plated Engraved Sardine Dish With Glass Liner – circa 1880

A Nice Antique Victorian Silver-Plated Engraved Sardine Dish featuring a square form with softly rounded corners and a hinged domed cover. The removable acid etched glass liner is moulded with a star-cut design to the base.

The lid is engraved with scrolling foliate ornament surrounding a central fish motif. The outer stand is framed by a pierced linear gallery and a prominent beaded border – circa 1880.

* Beyond serving sardines, the removable glass liner makes this an elegant dish for olives, nuts, sweets, condiments or small appetisers.
