A Really Stunning Antique George V Mappin & Webb Sterling Silver Guilloché Enamel Trinket Box. The hinged cover is decorated with translucent lilac guilloché enamel over a finely worked geometric ground.
The interior has a warm gilded finish intended to protect the silver and provide a refined presentation. Marked for the renowned maker Mappin and Webb and hallmarked for Birmingham, 1912 – the same year the titanic sunk!
* Viewed in changing light, the radiating guilloché decoration gives the lid remarkable visual movement!
