An Ornate Antique Edwardian Sterling Silver Card Case richly embossed with a pastoral scene showing a horse-drawn carriage travelling beneath a church or cathedral. The central landscape is framed by dense floral scrollwork, flowers, foliage and beaded ornament.
A vacant cartouche at the lower left provides a smooth contrast with the surrounding relief decoration. The case was intended to hold visiting cards or calling cards carried for social and professional use. Hallmarked for Birmingham, 1906.
