A Nice Antique Pedestal Serving Bowl crafted from silver plate and has a broad, rounded body raised on a stepped pedestal foot. The bowl is fitted with two opposing lion mask mounts, each holding a loose circular ring handle. A finely moulded rope-twist border runs around the upper rim and adds definition to the otherwise restrained form.
The polished body has a deep, capacious profile suited to punch, wine cooling, floral display or decorative use. Its classical lion mask ornament gives the piece a strong Regency and neoclassical influence – circa 1920.
* Used as a table centrepiece, the silvered finish would beautifully reflect surrounding glassware, candlelight and flowers!
