A Lovely Antique Victorian Butter Dish combining a cut glass bowl with a silver plated cover and matching underplate. The circular glass bowl has a substantial profile with geometric cut decoration around the sides. Its base is cut with a radiating starburst pattern that catches the light when viewed from above.
The fitted silver plated lid is engraved with a continuous wreath of ivy leaves and curling tendrils. A turned central finial provides a practical grip for lifting the cover. The matching underplate carries a corresponding engraved ivy pattern around its broad rim – circa 1890.
