Shagreen is a type of rawhide leather traditionally made from the skins of certain fish most commonly stingrays or sharks. It has a distinctive textured surface that is often covered with small round granules or a pebbled pattern giving it a unique and luxurious appearance. Historically shagreen was highly prized in Asia and Europe especially during the 18th and 19th centuries.
