Fine Victorian Sheffield Silver-Plated Salver beautifully engraved in the Rococo style and raised on three ornate scroll feet. This piece combines restrained elegance with the rich ornamentation characteristic of the late 18th / early 19th century. To the centre sits a finely executed crest, depicting a pair of angel wings around a sword, likely representing the arms of a distinguished family. The back of the salver is stamped with the phoenix symbol for John Watrehouse and E. Hatfield & Co (Sheffield, 203 Portobello Street).
