A Fantastic Antique Georgian Tea Caddy from the George III period, made in bright Sheffield silver plate. The body is formed with a gently lobed outline and vertical panelled fluting, giving it a crisp architectural look. The front is fitted with a keyhole, reflecting the traditional practice of locking away tea when it was a valuable commodity (key not included). Fine beaded edging around the lid adds a restrained decorative finish typical of late 18th century taste. It has its original tinned interior – circa 1800.
