A Fabulous Antique WMF (Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik) silver-plated basket with a vivid green cut glass liner, dating from the early 20th century. This exquisite example of German Art Nouveau design features an intricately cast openwork basket of floral and lattice motifs, raised on a spreading pedestal base and fitted with an elegant pierced handle with scroll detailing.
The vibrant glass liner, in a radiant apple-green hue, is beautifully cut and scalloped, enhancing the light-catching brilliance of the silver frame. A superb decorative centrepiece showcasing the exceptional quality and artistry for which WMF was internationally renowned – circa 1910.
