A Really Fabulous Antique Victorian Silver Plated Biscuit Box lavishly embossed with florals, scrolls, and classical motifs, it features an oval lidded form with a finial and an integrated, pierced-edge tray. Exuding grandeur and detail characteristic of the Victorian era, it would have been a centrepiece at a genteel tea table - designed to impress and delight – circa 1890.
* Designed to serve biscuits in style, but equally suitable for holding sweets, wrapped treats, or even as a decorative lidded box for keepsakes.
Measurements:
Height: 6 3/4" (approx. 17cm)
Width of base: 9 1/4" (approx. 23.5cm)
Depth of base: 6 3/4" (approx. 17cm)
Total weight: 791g
Very good condition for its age. Silver plate retains a bright, attractive sheen with light age-related wear and patina. The hinge functions smoothly. No dents or major damage - just the kind of surface character you'd expect from a well-preserved Victorian piece.
