A Really Fabulous Antique Victorian Brass and Glass Lizard Inkstand with a sculptural brass mount and fittings. The glass vessel is cradled by curved brass supports that rise from the base like stylised leaves or claws. A finely modelled brass lizard forms an animated companion piece, giving the desk set a playful natural-history character.
The inkwell is fitted with a domed, hinged brass lid with a knop finial, designed to protect the ink when not in use. A glass liner sits within the mouth of the inkwell – circa 1880.
