This finely preserved Classic Antique Terrestrial Globe was produced by Geographia Ltd. of London, a renowned cartographic publisher founded in 1905. Resting on a turned black-painted wooden stand with a brass half-meridian, the globe reflects the craftsmanship and geographical knowledge of the early 20th century.
The cartography includes clear country outlines in rich colouring, detailed place names, and trade route distances, reflecting the geopolitical landscape of the time. Its compact size and elegant proportions made it suitable for both educational and decorative purposes – circa 1910.
Measurements:
Height: 12 1/2" (approx. 32cm)
Diameter of Globe: 6" (approx. 15cm)
Total weight: 474g
In good condition – Globe surface shows gentle age wear and patina, consistent with age. Wooden base and brass meridian remain sturdy. Cartography remains clear and legible.
