An Antique Wedgwood China Biscuit Barrel/Cookie Jar with a fitted silver plated lid and swing handle. The barrel form is ovoid with a broad shoulder band decorated with peacocks, scrolling foliage, and small flowers. The lower body is finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze with a subtle speckled effect and a fine gilt line near the base. The body is marked Wedgwood “Made in England” to the base – circa 1920.
* The peacock banding gives it a rich decorative note that stands out beautifully on a sideboard or tea table.

In good condition – The biscuit barrel presents well overall with only light surface wear consistent with age and careful use. There are no chips or cracks top the china body.
