An Antique Edwardian Silver Plated decorative bowl in the form of a pierced basket with a rich ruby red glass liner. The body is worked with openwork gothic-style arches and repeating rosette medallions, creating a lace-like effect. A fitted swing handle rises from the sides, allowing the piece to be carried or displayed with a pleasing silhouette. The removable glass liner has a deep cranberry tone that gives strong colour contrast against the bright silver plate – circa 1905.
* Pierced silver plate of this kind is designed to look intricate from every angle, even at a distance.
