This Antique Edwardian Cut Glass & Silver-Top Double Inkstand with Star-Cut Bridge is a quietly impressive example of early 20th-century desk luxury. Formed as a paired inkwell joined by a flowing central bridge, the design is unified by a deeply cut star motif that radiates across the glass like a burst of light.
Each reservoir is topped with a hinged silver cover, crisply finished and neatly proportioned, lending balance and symmetry to the overall form. The glass itself is substantial and beautifully worked, with soft curves at the shoulders and precision cutting that speaks to skilled workshop production rather than mass manufacture. When viewed from above, the piece reads almost sculpturally - a composed, intentional object designed to sit proudly at the centre of a writing desk. Hallmarked for London, 1909.
*Complements interiors ranging from classic libraries to modern studies seeking contrast.
