kd53763
Vintage Sterling Silver and Mahogany Large Wine Coasters Birmingham 2000

An elegant pair of large vintage sterling silver wine coasters, each featuring a polished circular silver surround and a richly coloured mahogany base. The broad silver sides have a gently rounded profile with simple moulded borders, while the mahogany centres are finished with concentric turned rings and a circular sterling silver inset. Hallmarked for Birmingham, 2000.

The warm reddish-brown tones and attractive grain of the mahogany provide a pleasing contrast to the bright silver, giving the coasters a refined and understated appearance. Both have green felt-covered undersides to protect polished furniture, making them particularly suitable for use on a dining table or sideboard.

We particularly like the generous proportions of these coasters, which make them wonderfully versatile for holding wine bottles, decanters or other drinks vessels. The broad, polished silver surrounds frame the beautifully figured mahogany, while the restrained decoration allows the quality of the materials to take centre stage. An attractive and practical addition to any dining table or drinks cabinet.

Measurements:
Height: 2" (approx. 5cm)
Diameter: 7" (approx. 17.5cm)
Total weight: 626g

In good condition – The silver shows only light surface wear consistent with age and careful handling.

Item Details:
Hallmark: Birmingham, 2000
Classification: Vintage
Material: Sterling Silver and Mahogany
Item: Pair of Large Wine Coasters
Quantity: Two
Design: Circular with Turned Mahogany Bases

Item Reference: KD53763
